Terms and Conditions — K9 Compass

1. Definitions

  • K9 Compass, we, us, our: the service provider.

  • Client, you, your: the person hiring K9 Compass services.

  • Services: dog walking, training, pet transport and any ancillary services provided by K9 Compass.

  • Booking: an agreed appointment for Services confirmed by K9 Compass.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By booking or allowing K9 Compass to provide Services you accept and agree to these Terms and Conditions. These terms form the contract between you and K9 Compass.

3. Bookings and Confirmation

  • All Bookings are confirmed only once K9 Compass issues a booking confirmation (email, SMS or written).

  • You must provide accurate contact, address, medical and behavioural information for each animal prior to the first Booked Service. We rely on this information when assessing suitability and risk.

4. Fees, Payment and Invoicing

  • Our charges for Services will be as quoted at the time of booking. Training sessions, walking packages and transport fares are payable as set out in your booking confirmation.

  • Payment is due in full as specified on the invoice or at the time of service if required. Accepted payment methods will be stated on your invoice.

  • Late payments may incur interest and recovery costs. Accounts unpaid after 14 days may be suspended and the Client may be prevented from making further Bookings until outstanding sums are settled.

5. Cancellation, Rescheduling and No‑Shows

  • Clients must give at least 12 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule a Booking. Notice must be sent by an approved contact method and will be effective once acknowledged by K9 Compass.

  • Cancellations with less than 12 hours’ notice and all no‑shows are liable for the full service charge. K9 Compass reserves the right to charge the agreed fee immediately or to invoice the Client.

  • Exceptional circumstances (serious illness, emergency, severe weather) may be considered for fee waiver at K9 Compass’s discretion and may require evidence. Discretionary waivers do not create a contractual obligation.

6. Health, Behaviour and Safety

  • You warrant that all animals are up to date with vaccinations, parasite prevention and any veterinary treatment required. You must inform us of any medical conditions, behavioural issues, aggression history, escapes, or special needs.

  • K9 Compass will assess each dog for suitability. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or terminate Services for any dog we deem aggressive, dangerous or unfit for group activities.

  • While we take reasonable care, dogs can be injured, escape or cause damage when outside the home. You are responsible for all damage or injury caused by your dog to persons, property or other animals while in our care.

7. Transport and Equipment

  • When transporting dogs we use secure, vehicle‑specific enclosures and restraints. You consent to your dog being transported in such equipment and in the vehicle designated by K9 Compass.

  • You are responsible for providing any special equipment requested (harnesses, muzzle, lead) and for ensuring they fit correctly.

8. Liability and Insurance

  • K9 Compass holds public liability insurance which covers third‑party injury or damage where we are at fault. A copy of our insurance details is available on request.

  • Except where prohibited by law, K9 Compass’s liability to the Client for loss or damage is limited to direct, reasonably foreseeable losses and shall not exceed the value of the Services supplied. We are not liable for indirect, special or consequential losses.

  • We are not liable for pre‑existing medical or behavioural conditions not disclosed by the Client.

9. Behavioural Advice and Training

  • Training and behavioural advice provided is based on the information available and the dog’s response during sessions. No guarantee is made about specific outcomes. Continued owner practice and follow‑up are required to achieve lasting results.

  • Any actions recommended by K9 Compass are to be followed at the Client’s discretion and responsibility.

10. Termination and Suspension

  • Either party may terminate this agreement with reasonable notice. K9 Compass may suspend or terminate Services immediately where a dog poses an immediate risk to safety, following repeated non‑payment, or following breach of these Terms.

  • Termination does not remove the Client’s obligation to pay any outstanding fees or cancellation charges.

11. Data Protection and Privacy

  • We collect and process personal and pet data for the purpose of delivering Services. We will handle your data in accordance with applicable data protection law. Our privacy notice is available on request and explains how we use and protect your information.

12. Complaints

  • Any complaint should be submitted promptly to K9 Compass via our bookings email or phone. We will acknowledge receipt and aim to resolve issues quickly and fairly.

13. Amendments

  • K9 Compass may update these Terms from time to time. The version provided with your Booking confirmation is the operative version for that Booking.

14. Governing Law

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the non‑exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts.
